I would like to thank the members of GCIWU/PACE LOCAL 4-2001 for the opportunity to participate in the Close the Ranks Campaign. I have had the privilege of meeting and becoming friends with a lot of fine people during the campaign. Thank you very much.
It has been quite an experience to say the least. The things I have learned from our members and non-members have helped me greatly as a Union Steward and a fellow Union member. Although sometimes I felt like I was just a whipping post, it was worth every minute of it. Almost everyone had legitimate grips and issues. Sure, our Union leadership has made mistakes in the past and will probably make a few more in the future, but Mark Schubert and I made a commitment early on in the campaign to do everything we could to make our Union a better one and we meant it. Our Union is made up of a lot of great people like you, and those who say our Union is not what it should be. I have to agree. But with your support, understanding and participation, we can improve dramatically.
One of the major issues we have heard is communication of Union matters. Mark and I have, and will continue to work towards improving this problem and other very important issues you have given us. Thanks again.
